It's a resource that has everything you need in one place. It has apps which make it accessible in many locations including phone and tablet.
I love most the organization and easy to use interface. Search amboss is much easier than going through UpToDate
Overall, I think AMBOSS has a great question set with easy access to articles which help me review topics I struggle with. Additionally, I feel that it is more user friendly compared to other sources. I also love the new Anki add-on since I can quickly remind myself of different diseases or conditions as I go through my cards.
AMBOSS's library is comprehensive, accurate, and has the unique feature of hiding information that may not be relevant to you based on your target objective. It was and continues to be one of the biggest reasons I started using AMBOSS.
The notes for clinical information as simply AMAZING! The content for questions is informative, the question format / writeup is actually much more manageable than UWORLD. Also, the attending tips and the highlights of question stem after answering are "gold." I've gotten through more questions and content with Amboss than other question banks.
I really like the Anki add-on. It is something that I used a lot when doing cards and allows me to quickly look up terms or concepts that I’m not familiar with. The database also is a gold mine of pertinent information during clinicals that I find myself referring to often.
I've found myself coming back to AMBOSS for its excellent Knowledge app on mobile - it makes it effortless to look up many simple clinical questions. Additionally, I've found the Anki add-on to be everything I had hoped for, with easy references to common terms in the event I'm learning something new or just need a quick refresher.
Amboss has been super helpful to pair with anking! I use the amboss anki add-on to quickly look up information on my cards and quickly refresh my memory on topics without needing to do a google search or open a text book. I also love the library feature for searching topics that come up in PBL sessions and lectures. Amboss has more board-specific high yield material than other resources I have found. The osteopathic medicine library has also been helpful--especially with videos demonstrating OMM techniques.
AMBOSS has all the information I need. Instead of going through different resources, AMBOSS has everything I need both clinically and didactically.
I love the anki add-on. I use amboss daily on the wards to look up information as my primary source. The highlight and high yield functions are incredibly useful in the library articles as I can filter down what is actually high yield then learn more as it applies. The qbank for M3 clerkships is really helpful (in addition to UWorld) and I love that amboss underlines what is key in each question stem so you start to figure out what matters when you're reading a question.
My first exposure to Amboss was through a Reddit post recommending the addon for Anki. Ever since that download my studying habits have been enhanced significantly and I can not recommend it enough for anybody in their first two years of school. I am currently an M2 scheduled to take STEP1 in one month and rely heavily on Amboss tools. I am eager to use the Amboss app for rotations next year!
Amboss has been a lifesaver as I navigate medical school. During small group discussions, I use Amboss to quickly look up information, such as the pathophysiology of diseases or the mechanism of action of medications. It has saved me hours that would have otherwise been spent researching these topics. In addition, the Anki add-on feature is truly a must have. Instead of opening up another browser to read more about a disease/ medical term, I can just click on the term and the Amboss window will come up within Anki and show me the corresponding Amboss page. I have likely avoided many opportunities for distraction by using this feature. Amboss is an absolute godsend, and I recommend it to anyone in medical school!
AMBOSS is just pure gold, and for many reasons. AMBOSS is a QBANK and a knowledge library completely integrated together. Every vague word is just one click away from its explanation, and another click away from a thorough “article” that covers the entire relevant topic. This suits the style of “active learning” so well; where you search for stuff that you don’t know/understand, and focus your efforts on just learning them. It's not only good for the exams but in real clinical scenarios as-well. I love the overlay tool for radiographs. It gives you a real sense to understand what's going on in an X-Ray or CT scan. No more guess work involved.
I love AMBOSS! The questions are very well thought. I love how they have different levels of difficulty that you can build on throughout your studying. The Anki add on is also a huge plus! All I do is hover over the word that I don't know and AMBOSS shows me the definition and also pictures. You can also clock on it and it will take you to more information about it. I highly recommend that every medical student should have this resource through their entire time in school! You will benefit so much from it!
The question bank itself is worth having AMBOSS. The questions are difficult, really make you think, but have some of the best explanations for their answers I've ever read, and again - make it very easy to look up the related content within AMBOSS.I would recommend AMBOSS to almost all students, especially if you find yourself like me and consistently craving more information on a topic but don't want to get lost in 100+ pages of Google searches and scholarly articles.
I loved using AMBOSS my first 2 years of medical school to prepare myself for my Level 1 Boards! The questions were challenging and great to work through with my study groups. But I really loved using it as a search engine! The results were more reliable than a simple Google search, and so helpful with getting the important details of diseases and physiology of the body! It is also great for Clinical Rotations. I was also able to look up aspects of exams and patients I had seen throughout the rotation to expand my knowledge and impress my preceptors!
The Amboss app is always so handy when I am on the wards or sitting down to study. It was truly invaluable to me as a 3rd year student on my clerkships and continues to be as I move through my away rotations! I always liked to go back and reference the same articles I used on the wards when I was studying for Step as well!
The way learning cards integrate with questions is the perfect way to hit yourself hard with a concept you’re having difficulty getting. I’ve gotten my step one score its 252 and I’ve seen their step one questions. I for a fact know that they know the deal.
The library is extremely useful and user friendly. Much easier to navigate pertinent information than anything else I've used.
AMBOSS has been a lifesaver from my very first day of medical school. I use the library daily for my studying to help me excel through my clinical skills and simulation courses during the first two years. As a current third year, I use AMBOSS every single day for all my rotations to look up information and do well on my pimping questions. AMBOSS constantly is updating and becoming better every day. I love the treatment algorithms. Throughout my medical education, I have used the anki add on to speed up my efficiency with studying and was a huge help when I was first starting out and didn't know what terminology or abbreviations meant.
AMBOSS is incredible! I recently started my 2nd year of medical school, and I was having difficulty figuring out how to balance studying for classes as well as studying for boards. AMBOSS has incredible board style questions and I absolutely LOVE how I am able to select questions based on the specific topic I am going over. This blew my mind and I've never experienced any other Qbank like this! I highly recommend AMBOSS! I am very excited to utilize AMBOSS in my daily routine for studying and board prep!
I have been using Amboss since my second year of medical school when I was studying for Step 1/Level 1, and continued using it for my preparation for Step 2CK and Level 2. I felt that Amboss questions were the most challenging of all of my question banks, and if I could answer them, I would do well on my exams! That is reflected in my performance on Step 1/Level 1 and Step 2/Level 2.When I am on the wards, I use it almost daily and I wouldn't survive without it! The questions are fantastic, but the library really is my favorite tool. What makes it even better, is that they have a fantastic app for iOS and Android which makes it easy to look things up quickly on rounds! I cannot recommend it enough!
I just aced my pediatrics shelf exam, and this was the first time I almost exclusively used AMBOSS to study for a shelf (and the highest I have scored on a shelf by FAR) so the proof is in the pudding.
I was very impressed with the coverage of topics, question style and difficulty, and thoroughness of the explanations for each answer choice, with the learning cards already linked to each question. One of the biggest and unique highlights of the platform is the diagnostic image overlays and now, the smart-zoom microscopy. I have full confidence in the AMBOSS platform because walking out of the surgery shelf, I honestly felt like I just completed a set of AMBOSS questions, and I ended up scoring in the 97th percentile!
I genuinely love the service. Since starting using it, it has become my primary resource for board exams and for studying while on the wards. I have been using it bedside, and doing question sets with friends, and we all love it! I've even already gotten people to buy it! I think that literally every medical student at my school should have access to the program because it is the best thing out there.
